This is the 17th year that the OC Ravens Roost #44 “Penguin Swim Team” is raising money for Atlantic General Hospital as part of their 31th Annual Penguin Swim which takes place at the Princess Royal Hotel on New Years Day. Last year we raised just over $9,437 and the total raised by the Team in the past sixteen years is just over $160,000. I have been a member of the Team from hey beginning, so this is my 17th year jumping into the Atlantic ocean on New Years day.
The Team held several fundraising events throughout the year including our annual “Booze Cruise”, a special “Cocktails with the new Ocean Pines BOD” event which included a 50/50 raffle, and we are still selling tickets for our annual end of year raffle, as well as handmade Penguin Swim Dog Collars and Key Fobs. Our last fundraising event is on Wednesday 12/04 from 6 to 8pm at Pancho & Lefty’s” restaurant in West Ocean City.
Although these fundraisers have brought in donations for the Penguin Swim, we are still in need of additional contributions from our friends and family in order to meet this years Team goal of $10,000. Any help you can give us is greatly appreciated!!
The AGH Penguin Swim helps the hospital support a wide variety of programs and services. Last year, the hospital provided community benefits worth over $25 million. These benefits included health screenings, community education, immunizations, seminars and meetings, support groups and financial assistance. You can be sure that your donation will be used where it is needed most to help the hospital accomplish its mission: To create a coordinated care delivery system that will provide access to quality care, personalized service and education to improve individual and community health.
